PROFILE
UDESO is a Non Governmental
organization which demonstrates in a personal and honest way services and
considerations. We are obligated to the value and participation of each
community member through care respect and changing the community. UDESO was
registered on 23rd September 2005 as Non Governmental Organization
with registration No. 00NGO/0963. It deals with combating HIV/AIDS
transmission, provision of home base care and MVC’s support. It also deals with
capacity building to the parents, caregivers, living with vulnerable children,
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Helping people with disabilities, Poverty
reduction, Abolition of gender based violence (GBV) and Violence Against
Children(VAC). Mitigating Climate change, Promoting Environmental Conservation
UDESO is an acronym of Usevya
Development Society with its headquarter in Usevya village, Mpimbwe district
Katavi Region.

THE LIST OF SUCCESS FOR USEVYA DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (UDESO)
1.
UDESO is succeeding in promoting education to MVC by
sponsoring 167 MVCs at Primary School and secondary schools and three of them have
joined university.
2.
Economically, UDESO succeeded to support caregivers by
providing 3 pigs which were raised to seventeen pigs, twelve pigs were sold and
the result was construction of good house and raising MVCCs independence. To
date there are 34 WORTH groups for Rotating Savings and Credit Associations for
her beneficiaries’ families whose main source of income is Agriculture
supported by village governments and through Small businesses
3.
UDESO works with village government to secure Agricultural
land and skills to increase income for WORTH groups
4.
Under Pact Tanzania UDESO succeeded to perform nutrition
assessment and HIV testing to her clients in collaboration with Mlele District
council thereof linking the victims with Service Providers
5.
UDESO promote child protection through provision of birth
certificates to 83 MVC.
6.
Under PACT Tanzania UDESO
support community health through provision of CHF cards to MVC around 83
households with a total of 356 beneficiaries in collaboration with Village Governments
7.
UDESO in collaboration with RALEIGH INTERNATIONAL we
succeeded to build 1400 locket stove for three wards in Mpimbwe Divison in
Mlele District which help to reduce deforestation
8.
UDESO is in Process of developing and testing the new
model of cooking stove using soft iron
sheets whose fuel is Wheat chaff which is energy efficient, produce less soot
hence environmental friendly
9.
UDESO in collaboration with Nomad Trust and Rotary club has
constructed Youth’s Centre for environmental conservation and has worked with
primary schools to establish environmental clubs at Usevya Primary and
Secondary Schools
10. UDESO provided 7 groups at Inyonga
ward with 200 behaves and bee keeping equipments funded by UNDP through RAS’s
KATAVI Office.
11.UDESO Participated in drafting a three
years Strategic Plan for good neighborhood in strengthening Conservation of
Katavi National Park.
12. Udeso provide 5bags of fertile,15 bags
of maize seed and agricultural training to
Usevya Youth Agricultural Group.(Youth
out of school program)
13.UDESO to implement Kizazi Kipya project
for 7Wards in Mpimbwe District Council in Katavi Funded by USAID through Pact Tanzania
14.From 2016 todate UDESO engage
partnership with Kaeso NGO to participate in SRJS Project in Katavi and Rukwa funded by IUSN Nertherand
15.June 2017 UDESO Provide technical
person on training of conservation issue on how to (preserve water source) to
90water user from 14 (Water Society ) in Mpimbwe District Council and funded by
Mpimbwe District
Council.
16. 2018 UDESO success to sign contract
for implementing UWEZO project in to 13 wards found in Nsimbo and 11 in Mpimbwe
and 6 in Mlele District council, now is
in process for starting implementation
at Jan 2019
17. June 2017 UDESO Provide technical
person on training of conservation issue on how to (preserve water source) to
90 water user from 14 (Water Society ) in Mpimbwe District Council and funded
by Mpimbwe District Council
18.To date UDESO is collaborating with
HAKI ARDHI, ACTIONAID, LEAT, and other land scope CSO from Rukwa and Katavi in
SRJS initiative funded by IUCN for the implementation of gender, land rights,
and natural resources managements. Which are al l implemented in katavi region
at mpimbwe district within three villages such as maji moto, Mirumba, and
Ilalanguru near Katavi National Park?
19.In 4th August2019 UDESO and
LEAT signed MOU for UDESO to implement Organizing a strategic (SA) follow up

Multistakeholders
consultation meeting in Rukwa Region to contibute to the actions agreed to take
forward SEA road map for Lake Rukwa IWRMD plan.
·
Facilitate
interactive dialogue with pastoralist representatives, District officials,
protected areas officials, CSOs and communitities representatives to discuss
environmental challenges brought by pastoralism practices and develop a joint
actions,
·
Contribute
to a joint multistakeholder's forum for Luiche and Katuma (with GIZ and Lake
Rukwa Basin water Board). This will be done in two times

UDESO with LEAT signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in order for UDESO
to implement among of the activities such as
1. Organizing a strategic SEA follow-up
multistakeholders consultation meeting in Rukwa Region to contibute to the
actions agreed to take forward SEA road map for Lake Rukwa IWRMD plan.
2. Facilitate interactive dialogue with
pastoralist representatives, District officials, protected areas officials,
CSOs and communitities representatives to discuss environmental challenges
brought by pastoralism practices and develop a joint actions.
3. Contribute to a joint multistakeholder's
forum for Luiche and Katuma (with GIZ and Lake Rukwa Basin water Board).
4. UDESO is a member of Council Mult-Sectoral
AIDS Committee (CMAC) since the establishment of the committee in 2015 to date.
5. UDESO is a member of regional nutrition committee from 2015 to
date.

Dar es salam Tanzania (with 29 members)
21.UDESO is a member of
regional nutritional committee; in 1st august 2019 we attended for
training of CSO on new terms of reference for regional multicetral committee which includes all member of
nutrition in 29 regions in Tanzania who was selected from each region to attend
the nutrition training.
22.UDESO collaborating
with usevya tuition center which deals with children of under 18 years
old in provision of environmental and nutrition education because Katavi region
is one of malnutrition affected region in Tanzania
23.UDESO own a youth center known as USEVYA YOUTH CENTER which at the first used to provide
environmental education for youth from pastoralists and poachers families due
to availability of library and conference hall, which by this time these
facilities failed to operate the activities due to lack of staff, poor
infrastructure, and no fenced wire as protection for thieves and trace pass.
24. UDESO is
also implementing the Internet spot (Wi-Fi) project in collaboration with Basic
Internet Foundation from Norway, who founded the project to facilitate
communication advancement in at Mpimbwe district council. Now UDESO has
installed the internet (Wi-Fi) at Usevya Youth Centre.
